HTML
- The head element contains information about the webpage.
- The body element represents the visible content shown to the user.
- When possible, we should use semantic tags as opposed to non descript tags like div and span.
- There are heading tags spanning from h1 to h6 with h1 being the largest - we should only use h1 once per page.
CSS
- A margin indicates how much space we want around the outside of an element.
- A padding indicates how much space we want around the content inside an element.
- Colors can be designated using semantic references like Blue or alternatively their hexadecimal representation #0000FF
Git
- git status: checks what branch we are currently on
- git checkout -b branch-name: creates a new branch and switches to it
- our main branch is called "main"
- it is useful to prefix branch names with some unifying descriptor, e.g. "feature" for new features
JavaScript
- A variable is a named container that allows us to store data in our code.
- Control flow is the order in which a computer executes code in a script.
